Reflection journal

Continual reflection creates potential for professional growth through continual analysis and examination of beliefs, understandings and pedagogy. As a pre-service teacher, you will be asked to keep a reflection journal. In your reflection journal, you will need to critically reflect on the online collaboration and the range of curriculum approaches contained in current research for effective teaching, including approaches to the design implantation and evaluation of music education.

These reflections should incorporate discussion of philosophical positions, theoretical frames and the concept of effective music teaching and should demonstrate your understanding of differences between approaches and techniques.

You may like to:

  • include discussion of the relationships between your own personal practical knowledge as an educator
  • discuss current research and literature in this area
  • reflect on your practicum experiences or experiences as a student.
